Business Development Manager - Industrial and Process Water Solutions

We are looking for a dynamic, strategic and technically confident Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our Industrial and Process Water solutions business.

HUBER Technology is an ‘Investors in People’ Gold company which specialises in environmental engineering throughout the world, and with a UK operation based in Chippenham focused on delivering water and wastewater treatment solutions for industrial and municipal customers across the UK and Ireland.

Reporting to the Sales Director, as a key member of our sales team you will drive strategic sales growth for the industrial and process water market, expand our market presence, and position our solutions at the forefront of the industry (i.e. Food Production, Beverage, Dairy, Paper etc.). You will work closely with clients to cultivate resilient relationships with contractors, water companies and industrial stakeholders whilst collaborating with the sales team to deliver tailored solution proposals to meet our evolving market needs.

The role requires a candidate with proven experience in business development or technical sales, preferably with some experience in the industrial, water, or utilities sectors. You will possess strong technical understanding, excellent communication and relationship building skills whilst being pro-active demonstrating an opportunity-focused mindset to shape and grow the future of HUBER Technology’s Industrial and Process Water business.

The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will enjoy working closely and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders.

Your core responsibilities are as follows:

  • Strategic Sales Growth – Partner with the Sales Director and Commercial Manager to lead the expansion of our Industrial and Process Water solutions business to achieve annual sales budgets and strategic growth targets.
  • New Market Identification – Identify, evaluate and secure new business opportunities, markets, and strategic partnerships that align with our long-term development plans. Collaborate with our Marketing Manager to drive targeted campaigns, presentations, and strategic exhibition attendance.
  • Client Relationship Management – Build and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing clients. Collaborate with Area Sales Managers to understand customer needs and develop and generate bespoke solutions translating into quotes and sales orders.
  • Technical Authority – Develop and maintain expert knowledge of industry legislation and asset standards to influence client specifications effectively.
  • Competitive Intelligence – Deliver actionable market intelligence and provide monthly progress reports against strategic objectives whilst providing competitive analysis to support strategic decision making to strengthen HUBER Technology’s market position.
  • Knowledge Sharing – Promote the use of internal collective knowledge, ensuring industry insights and expertise are shared across teams to strengthen the company’s competitive position.

Your profile:

  • You have an Engineering background and ideally a minimum of three years’ experience.
  • You have strong experience and leadership skills in business development and strategic sales growth.
  • You have the ability to identify and understand business opportunities, and to build long term relationships with customers.
  • You are commercially driven with the enthusiasm and experience to maintain and grow new business.
  • You are able to manage your own time, work autonomously to meet strategic sales targets and company objectives.
  • You will enjoy the technical aspects of this role whilst focusing on strategic sales growth.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You will enjoy working with a variety of people and you are confident in your ability to cultivate relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

A valid UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points) is essential for this role, as you will be required to drive regularly as part of your duties as well as willingness to travel.
