Weber was accompanied by a delegation of the CSU from the Neumarkt Constituency, including the CSU District Chairwoman and Direct Candidate for the Federal Constituency Amberg-Sulzbach-Neumarkt Susanne Hierl, District Administrator Willibald Gailler, Berching's First Mayor Ludwig Eisenreich, and CSU Town Association Chairman Marco Gmelch. Weber and the CSU politicians were able to get an on-site impression of the internationally operating medium-sized family business: HUBER representatives presented the headquarters in Berching, where the company employs around 750 people. Vice CEO Dr. Oliver Rong led the tour of the production facilities. In addition to the production halls, the visitors were also able to get an idea of the exhibition machines on display at the site. Afterwards, the politicians went into a joint exchange with the board members in the new HUBER Forum. For this, I express my respect and congratulations," said Weber at the end of the joint exchange in the HUBER Forum. Topics of the dialogue included the current Covid pandemic and how society and companies can prepare for crises of this kind in the future. In addition, the interlocking of politics and economy was discussed. European politician Weber expressed the wish and the intention that politics should again focus on shaping and the long-term perspective instead of reacting to crises. Manfred Weber: European politician from Bavaria MEP Weber began his political career in 2002 as State Chairman of the Bavarian Junge Union (Young Union of Germany). He held offices as District Chairman of the CSU Lower Bavaria (2008 to 2016) and Chairman of the CSU Future Commission (2009 to 2014) and has been Deputy Party Chairman of the CSU since 2015. In addition, he is a member of the Presidium (since 2009) and Party Executive Committee (since 2003). Weber has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2004, and Chairman of the EPP Group since 2014. In 2018, Weber was elected as the EPP's top candidate for the 2019 European elections, and in 2019 he was again elected as Chairman of the EPP Group. [...]The HUBER Belt Screen EscaMax® is a system that especially offers our customers excellent separation results. Its high separation efficiency has officially been proven in tests carried out under real conditions with a 6 mm perforation screen. The excellent separation result of 84% has been confirmed by an independent institute. These above average results are on the one hand due to the two-dimensional design of our well-proven EscaMax® screen. On the other hand, such results can only be achieved on the basis of consequent further development and high manufacturing quality. Another positive aspect as to functionality and reliability is the sturdy design of the EscaMax®, particularly when huge amounts of grit and gravel need to be processed. Each end of the filter belt of the HUBER EscaMax® screen is connected with a drive chain that is driven by chain wheels. Each chain wheel is driven by a sprocket on a common shaft and a flange mounted gear motor. When they have passed the upper turning point the screening elements are cleaned by an internal spray nozzle bar which operates against screening direction. A separately and continuously driven roller brush enhances the cleaning process additionally. The roller brush operates against the travel direction of the filter belt, this improves cleaning efficiency significantly. Another advantage of this cleaning method is that a majority of the screenings, including abrasive material, are removed from the screening elements already in the first step of the cleaning process by the spray bar. It is obvious that the wear of both the screening elements and the roller brush is considerably reduced in this way. Furthermore, we have risen to another technical challenge and developed a new concept for the critical area where the screening elements are cleaned subsequently. The results have exceeded all expectations: The constant spacing between the roller brush and the semicircular screening elements guarantees gentle yet highly effective cleaning, especially with extremely high screenings loads. The innovation and reliability of the HUBER EscaMax® Belt Screen ensure increased separation efficiency, effectively eliminate pump blockage and wear, and minimise the formation of scum layers in digesters. The HUBER EscaMax® screen thus contributes to increasing the operating reliability of sewage treatment plants. Customers who want to reduce disposal costs even with increased amounts of screenings should additionally use the HUBER WAP/SL screenings treatment system. The special feature of this system is that spray water can also be used as wash water for the WAP/SL. High-turbulence washing of screenings removes the contained organic matter most effectively. An integrated impeller creates high turbulences so that a dry substance content in excess of 45% can be achieved. Residual material becomes valuable material in this way. Furthermore, the carbon-rich WAP/SL wash water improves denitrification, and up to 40% of the wash water are washed out organics which settle as primary sludge and lead to an increase in gas yield. With this innovative and intelligent technology HUBER proves how competence and expertise which have been gathered over many years can successfully be applied in practice. [...]High-ranking delegation visited HUBER China: German Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke visited the Chinese subsidiary of HUBER SE as part of the Sino-German Environmental Forum. The management of HUBER Environmental Technology (China) Co., Ltd. welcomed the Minister and gave her a tour of the production facility in Taicang (Jiangsu Province) after a joint exchange and company presentation. The visit also served as an opportunity to discuss innovative environmental technologies and the importance of water and wastewater treatment. In addition to Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke, other high-ranking personalities took part in the visit, including Pit Heltmann (Head of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai), Prof Dr Dirk Messner (Head of the Federal Environment Agency), Stefan Tidow (State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection) and Eva Kracht (Head of the Department for International and European Affairs at the German Federal Environment Ministry). [...]Various solutions for conveying sewage sludge The heart of an economical sludge dewatering system is the HUBER Screw Press Q-PRESS® , which is in use in thousands of installations worldwide. However, the right solution for the subsequent transport of the dewatered sludge into the provided containers is also of great importance for the implementation of an optimal and practicable dewatering process. HUBER offers various solutions for container filling, which can be differentiated in terms of sludge volume or sewage treatment plant size, number of containers and degree of automation. Solutions for Conveying Sewage Sludge into Containers Plant capacity < 20,000 P.E. – loading of 1 - 2 containers With this size, a distribution system and automation is usually not required for feeding the sludge into the containers. For easy loading into two containers, HUBER SE offers a simple adjustable chute for switching between the containers. Depending on the customer's requirements and after clarification of the technical prerequisites, container feeding can also be partially automated with the adjustable chute. Plant capacity 20,000 - 50,000 P.E. – loading of 2 - 4 containers Here, simple swivelling screw conveyors have established themselves on the market, which are usually moved to the respective container position by hand using a swivel motor. The containers are placed in a circle around the pivoting screw conveyor as appropriate for the space available. This system is used here because the dewatered sludge produced corresponds to about one container per day and so the plant operator only has to move the screw conveyor by hand 1-2 times a day. The working radius of the swivelling screw is usually in the range of 5 - 6 m. Since the screw is positioned by hand, there is no need for accurate container placement. Plant design capacity approx. 50.000 PE – loading of 3 - 6 containers For plant sizes around 50,000 PE, containers are usually lined up on a container transport unit and fed via a distribution screw with an intermediate discharge solution. In order to make the best possible use of the container volume, the containers have to be moved or the cone of material in the container has to be distributed manually. To keep the workload as low as possible, additional cross conveyors with the corresponding necessary discharge gates are sometimes used. In order to enable automatic feeding, precise positioning of the container is necessary with a corresponding solution.[...]
