[...]On July 25, the first HUBER Cycle Day, no fewer than 85 of our staff came to work on their bicycles. HUBER set up the Cycle Day to point its employees to a good but often forgotten alternative to driving by car. "Our employees drive 16,000 kilometres by car a day to come to work and back home, riding by bike is a possibility to do something for one's health and for the environment", explained Dr. Johann Grienberger. He himself pedalled the 22 kilometres way from home to Erasbach. The company invests 50 Cent per cycled kilometre, i.e. a total of € 992, into the further forestation of the HUBER-Natur-Park. This was additional motivation as well as the friendly reception with free cereal bars and beverages. The colleagues came from near and far on their bicycles, one of them covered 42 kilometres already early in the morning. In view of the fact that we have a lot of shift workers and commuters who drive more than 100 km the participation in the event was a great success. For some the HUBER Cycle Day was a completely new experience, for our regular cyclists it was a day like any other. But all of them agreed that is something we should definitely repeat next year! Maybe we could achieve with this event that we will see more bicycles parking in front of our entrance doors in the future.[...]
[...]Eleven young people start their professional life at HUBER SE: the company welcomes ten apprentices and one dual student at the company headquarters in Berching. During an introductory event lasting several days, the young people get to know the company and the site and familiarise themselves with their new colleagues. Start of a new phase of life for eleven young people: HUBER welcomes ten apprentices and one dual student at the start of training in 2021. Six of the apprentices will start their careers in the industrial sector as precision mechanics, metal workers, mechatronics engineers and wastewater technology specialists. Four trainees start their commercial and technical training as industrial clerks and technical product designers. In addition, a dual student in bio and environmental process engineering at the East Bavarian Technical University Amberg-Weiden starts his career at HUBER. CEO Georg Huber: "For environment, nature and climate protection we need young and motivated people". "We are delighted that young people have decided to take up an apprenticeship and dual study programme at HUBER," says CEO Georg Huber. Human resources department, works council and youth and trainee representation introduce themselves For the easiest possible introduction to the chapter "Apprenticeship" and "Studies", the first item on the agenda was a welcome by the Management Board, the Works Council and the Youth and Apprentice Representation. "It is particularly important to us to guarantee you the best possible start to your professional life despite the Corona pandemic," said Huber. Also at the second training start during the Corona pandemic, all participants complied with the applicable regulations. After introductory words by Markus Hummel, Chairman of the Works Council, and the Youth and Trainee Representation, and then getting to know each other, Human Resources Manager Michael Hiller presented the company and HUBER's products. Following an occupational safety training session, the young people got to know their future employer even better in the form of a company rally, before they were sent off for their well-deserved first day of work. "Trainee etiquette" and entertaining team building On the second day of the introductory event, the young people were welcomed by members of the human resources department, who explained the most important aspects of the apprenticeship. Before a tour of the company, the young people were given a "trainee etiquette manual" to prepare them in the best possible way for the apprenticeship and study period as well as for the work in the company. At the end of the second introductory day, an entertaining team-building activity awaited the young people: to give them the opportunity to get to know each other better as well as the trainers and members of the youth and trainee representation, a round of football and swing golf was on the agenda. On the third day, the industrial trainees already started in their specialist department, while the other trainees and the dual student received an introduction to the IT systems before the daily work routine began for them as well. Bringing the best technologies for wastewater and sludge treatment to Brazil” Lucas Funari works at HUBER do Brasil, the Brazilian subsidiary of HUBER SE, and has been supporting the Americas Sales team at the headquarters in Berching since September 2021. In the interview, he talks about his work at HUBER, what drives him as a real nature lover in his daily work and what it is like to work for a globally active company with a history of over 150 years. In addition, he gives private insights and explains his “preference” for the cold German winter and why he is particularly fond of Bavarian beer gardens. HUBER Communication: Hello Lucas, welcome again to the HUBER headquarters in Berching. You recently joined us from HUBER do Brasil, the Brazilian subsidiary. How long have you been with HUBER SE now and how long will you stay here in Germany? Lucas Funari: Thank you very much for the words of welcome! I started at HUBER in Germany on 15 September 2021 and will stay for one year, until September 2022. What were the reasons that you came to Germany to join us? Lucas Funari: The main reason was the mutual exchange of knowledge with our parent company here in Germany, both in the field of machine technology and in project and sales management. HUBER Brazil saw the opportunity to develop a long-term training project and brought this idea to HUBER in Germany. The company supported the idea from the first moment. How can the mutual exchange of knowledge take shape in the future and what experience do you want to bring to HUBER Brazil in the future? Lucas Funari: The experiences of working here in Germany – including being together in the office, specific trainings, plant visits, discussing projects and contracts – will help to strengthen the values of HUBER SE and subsequently also improve my work at HUBER Brazil. What were your responsibilities at HUBER do Brasil and what tasks do you now take on at the headquarters? Lucas Funari: As I have had to work from home since March 2020 due to the pandemic, I continue my tasks in Brazil while I am here in Germany, but now even faster and more agile to resolve matters with Germany. In Brazil, my tasks included acquiring new projects, visiting customers, sizing equipment and processes, preparing technical and commercial proposals, selling new projects and managing the projects sold, from sales to on-site delivery. How did the team welcome you and how were the first months? Lucas Funari: The welcome from my colleagues was incredible and made it very easy for me to settle in and get started at HUBER Germany. I had great support from the colleagues I had already worked with from Brazil, from the Americas Sales team and also from the HR department, which took care of the practical organisation of my arrival. I am also very grateful to a colleague from the Industry department who helped me a lot with local tips and even lent me two bikes to explore the region. As I arrived at the end of summer, I was able to spend a few afternoons with my colleagues in the famous beer gardens. The adjustment and the organisation of your stay were certainly very exciting. Lucas Funari: The first month I spent living and working in Germany was quite intense, with many new things both in my personal and professional life. But I feel a great sense of gratitude for this incredible opportunity and I’m looking to make the most of every second. What and at which university did you study and were you able to gain professional experience before joining HUBER? Lucas Funari: I studied environmental engineering at the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (Polytechnic Department of the University of São Paulo, editor's note). Before joining HUBER Brazil, I worked at the university for one year, researching pilot plants with ultrafiltration membranes for municipal wastewater treatment. Later, still during my studies, I started as an intern in an engineering company called Sharewater in the field of design, construction and operation of wastewater treatment plants. After I graduated in 2016, I started as an engineer at Sharewater, where I was involved in a project of a HUBER plant (BioMem Membranes). This gave me the opportunity to get to know HUBER Brazil. The company later invited me to work in their office, where I have been since July 2018. That was very cool, because before I worked at HUBER Brazil, I was their customer! Have you settled in well in Germany and what has been the biggest adjustment for you so far? Lucas Funari: The biggest adjustment is the language, which I have been learning since February 2020, but which still makes it very difficult for me to interact better with the local culture. Besides the language, the climate is also a big adjustment, because in Brazil we don't have such cold temperatures or such short days in winter. In Brazil, the sun still shines between 7am and 6pm on the "worst" day of winter and temperatures rarely drop below ten degrees. I'm a bit worried about the coming winter, but that's part of the experience. And when you're not at work – have you found any leisure activities? Lucas Funari: Yes, outside of work I enjoy outdoor activities, especially hiking, walking and cycling. We also enjoy visiting the historical and medieval towns here in Germany on the weekends. Rothenburg ob der Tauber was one of them that we found very beautiful, very different from what you find in Brazil. As we arrived at the end of the summer season, we were also able to enjoy the beer gardens and we now understand why Germans like them so much: it is really very pleasant to sit in the sun and enjoy a good German beer in good company. Let’s get back to work: What drives you every day, what would you call your “purpose”? Lucas Funari: I think it is the will to bring the best wastewater and sludge treatment technologies to Brazil. These are already a reality in the most developed countries, but for Brazil they are still a distant dream. Behind this, of course, is the intention to make a contribution – if only a small one – to the preservation of Brazil's waters through the efficient treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater. And what contribution do you think HUBER can make here? Lucas Funari: I see HUBER SE as an important player in improving the Brazilian situation in terms of wastewater treatment technologies and processes, especially in the reuse of resources such as sewage sludge. My top motivation is to learn more about these technologies and apply them in the projects we work on in Brazil. We hear that you feel very comfortable at HUBER. How do you perceive the global HUBER family and what would you describe as the "unifying bond"? Lucas Funari: Part of the experience and goals of my working year in Germany is just to get to know the HUBER family better, especially the headquarters in Berching. I think the most important unifying element is the diversity of the global HUBER family. When we look at the diversity of cultures, languages, traditions and histories of all the countries where HUBER SE is present, either with subsidiaries as in Brazil or with agencies, we see the true strength of our company: where each culture also contributes to the growth of HUBER as a whole and teaches us to be more open and tolerant towards others. Finally, let’s look ahead to next year: HUBER will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2022. What is it like for you to work in a company with such a long tradition? Lucas Funari: Every time I remember it, I am still amazed at how big HUBER's history is. It’s great to be able to work in a company with such a long tradition and a global presence. The company I worked for before was very small and had small projects accordingly. So the change to HUBER was very big and very nice, especially because you handle big projects and can count on all the experience gained in the 150-year history. This gives me a lot of security and peace of mind to make decisions and carry out the projects we have in Brazil. Is there anything you wish for yourself personally, but also for HUBER, for the future? Lucas Funari: That we can emerge stronger from this complicated situation (Corona, editor’s note) that we are all going through and continue to contribute to the conservation of nature with new projects in Brazil and in the world. On a personal level, I hope to use this opportunity in Germany to develop as a person and professionally. And especially, I want to keep learning – after all, we have a lot to learn in this world.[...]
[...]Today, on October 18th 2018, exactly at 10:18 local time, the official groundbreaking took place for the erection of the new company building for HUBER China in the Shaxi District of Taicang (Jiangsu province). The cornerstone laying ceremony took place in the presence of the official representatives of the local government / administration and the team of HUBER China represented by managing director Franck Loctin The Shaxi District is located in the northwest of Shanghai on the Changjiang river (also called “blue river”). The construction works for the 13,000 m² new office and production area, 1,800 m² of which are office buildings, will go on there until autumn 2019. The new production facility will have five times the capacity of the previous production in China. The medium-term goal is to manufacture there machines at the value of at least 30 - 40 million Euros and sell them exclusively to the important Chinese market. Owing to the further increase in competitiveness and capacity, all will profit from this ambitious plan and the innovative solutions and products: HUBER SE as parent company, our subsidiary in China and, not least, China’s environment![...]
[...]HUBER and ATE Group recently signed a joint venture agreement. HUBER has a 30% minority participation in the new company that will be named A.T.E. HUBER Envirotech Private Ltd. According to the agreement, the joint venture company will manufacture HUBER products in India, through their plants in Vasai, Maharashtra, and cater to the markets in India and Bangladesh. Speaking of the collaboration, Anuj Bhagwati, head of ATE Group, said: "As India is building its infrastructure and industry, we need new approaches and products for wastewater management. This joint venture will serve India and Bangladesh with products from HUBER and cater to industrial wastewater treatment projects in major international markets, leveraging their network. We have had a partnership for 5 years and now the JV will strengthen our presence." The German company has put in undisclosed investment in the new company. Georg Huber, CEO, said: "Through this partnership, Huber brings in its technologies in the fields of solid liquid separation, membrane filtration and sludge management with an installed base of 40,000 installations."[...]
[...]One of our guiding principles is to take on our responsibility for the environment and see water, wastewater and energy as a whole. We therefore promote the sustainable use of energy by using innovative technologies. According to a study of the Frauenhofer Institut electric motors are responsible for about 40% of the total power consumption worldwide and about 70% of the power consumption in industries. The international standards IEC 60034-30 dealt with the energy consumption of rotating electric machines already before 2009. The modified DIN EN 60034-30-1 published in 2014 picks up these requirements and tightens the standards even more. It includes all designs of mains-operated three-phase drives. Nominal output powers from 0.12 kW are required. It includes 2/4/6-pole and 8-pole machines. Efficiency classes IE1, IE2, IE3 and IE4 with 50 Hz and 60 Hz Motors for the use in areas where explosive gas-air mixtures are present The future efficiency class IE5 is pre-announced for the next updated issue of the standards. Thus, an adjustment of the requirements to the state-of-the-art level is anticipated also for the next years. With the conventional asynchronous technology this aim can hardly be achieved, or even not at all. This is also the opinion of the standards committee. Our own philosophy challenges us to go ahead of the legislator, the market and the present technology. In the course of the past two years we have reviewed in detail the technical options and innovations of the motor manufacturers. While, two years ago, the focus of the drive manufacturers was on high drive powers, with which an efficiency increase by only few percent could lead to considerable life-cycle cost reduction, the new standards places the focus on the smaller but more frequently used drives. The greatest potential lies in the smaller and medium-size drives. The technical requirements are however higher for the latter as losses in bearings and for cooling can only be limited to a certain extent. Especially with lower powers the present standard motors of efficiency class IE1 as used in "Ex" areas show a comparably poor degree of efficiency. The opposite picture shows how the degree of efficiency of a 1.1 kW drive improves from 75% with IE1 to 87.2% with IE4. This is a reduction of the losses by nearly 50% of what the standards are requesting. We have successfully used synchronous permanent magnet motors in several projects in consultation with the customers. This resulted in a number of benefits: Significantly improved degree of efficiency both in full load and partial load operation High overload capacity IE4 achievable also in "Ex" zone 1 Torque and power control via converters Independence from mains voltage and frequency Speed control We will carry on using the technological advantages of IE4 to further improve the capability of HUBER machines. Some machines with IE4 were already presented at last IFAT trade show in June 2016. We will continue to gradually change more of our machines to IE4 drives as well. In the future, we will control all parameters of the drive via the converter without the need to complete the drive train with individual measurements. We will be able to exploit the full energy saving potential in overload, full and partial load operation. With this innovative technology we and our customers will be well prepared for the challenges we will be faced with during the coming years![...]
[...]On 22nd November, the UmweltCluster symposium on sewage sludge disposal and phosphorus recovery took place on the premises of HUBER SE in Berching. HUBER organised the event together with UmweltCluster Bayern e.V. - a Bavarian environmental collaboration initiative - and German Phosphorus-Platform DPP. The disposal of the sewage sludge that is generated from wastewater treatment in Germany costs about 500 million Euro per year. Up to now, sewage sludge disposal has meant that the sludge is either utilised as fertilizer being spread onto agricultural land or used for landscaping, or incinerated in power or cement works and mono-incineration plants. But there is an amendment of the German Sewage Sludge Ordinance (AbfKlärV) coming up with far-reaching changes relating to the utilisation of sewage sludge. The amendment, which will presumably come into force in 2017, stipulates a significant reduction of the agricultural use of sewage sludge and commits larger sewage treatment plants (for more than 50,000 PE) to recover the phosphorus. In addition to promoting the recovery of valuable material, this legal regulation is intended to protect also the groundwater against further contamination by pharmaceutical residues. This attracted great interest among sewage plant operators, operators of incineration plants, associations for sewage sludge utilisation, politics, engineering offices and research institutes. We finally counted more than 170 participants from Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Austria. They were welcomed by Mr. Mayr of the UmweltCluster Bavaria, Mr. Georg Huber, CEO of HUBER SE, and Dr. Schnee of the German Phosphorus-Platform. At the beginning, Dr. Schnee as the moderator of the event read out a statement of the Bavarian State Ministry for environment, health and consumer protection on the future requirements on sewage sludge disposal in Bavaria. Prof. Bischof and Prof. Mocker of the University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden in Eastern Bavaria presented a comprehensive overview on the present state of the Sewage Sludge Ordinance amendment and the options of phosphorus recovery on sewage treatment plants and from sewage sludge ash in general. Dr. Markus Rödiger, consulting engineer from Stuttgart, reported about the energetic situation of small and medium-sized sewage treatment plants including sewage sludge drying in solar dryers and belt dryers. He also provided useful information how to fill energy gaps in advanced treatment. Dr. Heindl of HUBER SE explained some of the highly efficient HUBER machines and described a possible scenario for phosphorus recovery in Bavaria. He explained that enough capacity would be available in Southern Bavaria for the thermal utilisation of sewage sludge whereas four new utilisation plants would have to be erected in Northern Bavaria, among other mono-incineration pants, preferably on existing power plant sites. The actual recovery of phosphorus from the ash could be done in two centres, among other by a private fertilizer processing and trading company. Harald Plank of S2E GmbH, a subsidiary of HUBER SE and WTE Wassertechnik GmbH in Essen, informed about mono-incineration plants for the thermal utilisation of sewage sludge which have especially been designed as modular systems for dewatered sludge volumes of approx. 10,000 to 50.000 t/year. These plants are offered as complete systems including sludge storage, drying, incineration and storage of ash in a building. With great anticipation the audience had waited for what Thomas Knoll, Managing Director of the joint waste management authority Schwandorf, would tell about a very special project. He reported of a merger of several municipalities for thermal sewage sludge utilization which is unique so far and takes over the drying of the generated sewage sludges, among other those of the city of Regensburg. A new belt drying plant is planned to dry the sludge on the site of the waste-fired power plant in Schwandorf using exhaust heat. The dried sludge is planned to be co-incinerated in a nearby cement works. A site report of phosphorus recovery from ash was presented by Bernhard Ortwein of CNP-Technology Water and Biosolids GmbH. Sewage treatment plants with biological phosphorus elmination frequently have problems with phosphate deposits in the pipelines downstream of the digester. The AirPrex system prevents such operational problems through phosphate removal from the sludge liquor and, as a side effect, produces fertilizer in the form of magnesium-ammonium phosphate. Burghard Hagspiel of Stadtentwässerung Nürnberg (authority for waste water and surface water collection and treatment) reported about the latest state of the research project KRN-Mephrec on STP Nuremberg. The sludge there is dried and briquetted. Coke and lime are added then and this mix is melt-gassed in a cupola furnace. The products that are won from the tap are metal and phosphate slag. Phosphate slag is a well plant-available fertilizer. Michael Knust of WTE-Betriebsgesellschaft GmbH explained the sewage sludge disposal concept to be implemented on STP Hecklingen in Saxony-Anhalt. As a first step, a belt dryer will be installed. From 2018 on, it is planned to further operate a mono-incineration plant for sewage sludge as a BOT model. Dr. Turek of MSE Mobile Schlammentwässerungs GmbH (Mobile Sludge Dewatering PLC) presented a mobile plant for phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge which is installed in two 40ft sea transport containers. In a wet-chemical process, magnesium-ammonium phosphate is won from the sludge which can be used as fertilizer after drying and granulation. There were vivid discussions, particularly about the methods of recovering phosphorus from sludge or ash, the comparison of mono-incineration and co-incineration in cement works after prior phosphorus depletion and about the costs of the available techniques and how to implement them in practice. The successful event ended with a tour of the HUBER factory.[...]
[...]In the city of Regensburg in the Upper Palatinate, an administrative district in the Northeast of Bavaria, the new museum of Bavarian history is currently under construction. The worldwide successful environmental company HUBER SE based in Berching is involved in this building project as the supplier of a sustainable, innovative system solution which makes it possible to heat and cool the museum building with energy from wastewater. It is a prestigious project which is of special importance for HUBER, not only due to its proximity to the company's headquarters. Bavaria and its myths are legendary, the Free State of Bavaria a success model and its cultural landscapes are much admired. Bavaria has a variety of museums for the most varied issues, however not yet one for its own recent history. This gap will be closed by 2018, the year in which the Free State of Bavaria will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. In his government declaration of December 2008, Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer announced the plans for the new museum. The focus of the new showplace will be on the people who have been living in Bavaria, all tribes, including those immigrated from afar who have found their new home here. Everyone is invited to participate in building the museum by contributing personal stories and memorabilia. The museum tells the story how the State of Bavaria has become what it is today and what makes it so very special. For a long time already, Bavaria has counted on combining the past and the present, the old & proven and the new & innovative. Innovations 'made in Bavaria' like HUBER's ThermWin System give proof of the capacity of Bavaria's economy and especially that of its medium-sized enterprises. A logistic challenge More than 20 construction companies, many of them are local companies or from Bavaria, are involved in this large-scale project – one of the largest construction sites in Regensburg. "The extremely limited space in the middle of the historic city centre is a very special challenge", explained State Minister Joachim Herrmann. All parties involved in the project are faced with a tight schedule until project completion in the anniversary year 2018 when Bavaria can celebrate the kingdom's 200-year constitution and the 100-year anniversary of the State of Bavaria. HUBER ThermWin System supplies clean energy for heating and cooling the museum A special structure was built to enable the wastewater to be extracted from the sewer. Now, up to 70 l wastewater per second can be extracted. The coarse solids are removed from the wastewater in a HUBER Pumping Stations Screen ROTAMAT® RoK4. The pre-clarified water is pumped to two HUBER Heat Exchanger RoWin units. Due to the heat exchanger operation in combination with the heat pump, either heat is extracted from the wastewater and introduced into the building (for heating) or heat is extracted from the building and introduced into the wastewater (for cooling). The slightly cooled down or heated wastewater is finally returned to the sewer together with the previously separated solids. HUBER supplies for the museum of Bavarian history a ThermWin system with a heat output of 2 x 280 kW and a cooling capacity of 2 x 500 kW. The HUBER Heat Exchanger RoWin units are self-cleaning systems with very low maintenance requirements. For easy positioning of the equipment inside the building, the heat exchangers will be delivered as flanged units and assembled on site. [...]The renowned Cramer Klett Price by the Association of German Engineers is awarded to Christian Frommann, head of HUBER's business unit Mechanical Treatment, for his achievements in the field of heat recovery from wastewater. The Theodor-von-Cramer-Klett Prize is awarded every two years to young scientists and engineers by The Association of German Engineers VDI. The prize is named after the Nuremberg entrepreneur Theodor von Cramer Klett who lived from 1817 to 1884 and was one of the outstanding personalities of that time. With his farsightedness he initiated numerous projects and businesses and also laid the basis for the worldwide known MAN Group. It is therefore only logical that the prize is traditionally awarded at MAN in Nuremberg. Volker Thomas, Chairman of VDI North-East Bavaria, welcomed the invited guests and in his speech pointed out Christian Frommann’s outstanding achievements in the field of heat recovery from wastewater. The wastewater flowing through our sewers has a constant temperature of at least 10 to 12 °C all year round. And if we consider that these are really huge amounts of wastewater it becomes clear that our sewers hold an enormous energy potential which can be used to heat buildings, provided the suitable technology is applied. Mr. Frommann, businesss area manager in HUBER SE, rose to this challenge and opened up a new field of business for the company. The core of this innovative technological solution is the HUBER RoWin Heat Exchanger which is especially designed for the use with wastewater. A unique, patented heat exchanger combined with a heat pump extracts thermal energy from wastewater. This energy can then be used to heat buildings. In this process, the wastewater cools only by few degrees. Another interesting point is that this principle can optionally be used to cool buildings. For this type of application, the heat pump extracts thermal energy from the building and transfers this heat energy to the wastewater via the heat exchanger. In view of the present discussion about the finite nature of fossil fuels, the looming climate change and the energy turnaround it is an absolutely sustainable and future-oriented technology. The use of wastewater heat eliminates the need for oil and gas which are necessary for conventional heating and therefore significantly reduces CO 2 emissions. In his presentation Christian Frommann described all his development activities related to wastewater heat recovery from 2006 until today. He explained with pictures and examples which obstacles had to be overcome and which technical and engineering challenges had to be mastered until a functioning and marketable product was developed from the first idea and the first orders were received finally. After Christian Frommann's presentation Volker Thomas handed over the Cramer-Klett-Prize 2012 document and then disclosed the secret of the surprise non-cash prize: Christian Frommann and his wife were invited to spend a luxury weekend in Dresden including two nights in a hotel, special visits, and tickets for the Semper Opera. After the prize award ceremony the guests had the opportunity to join a tour of the MAN factory before they were invited to have lunch together with Dr.-Ing. [...]A sewage treatment plant is under construction in Egypt, in the east of the Suez Canal, for the treatment of wastewater and agricultural wastewater from the sewer system Bahr El-Baqar. To ease the water shortage in the Sinai region, the clarified water will be returned to the El-Salam canal and serve for the irrigation of agricultural land on the Sinai Peninsula. With a total capacity of 5 million m³ per day, this plant will be the biggest water treatment plant in the world. Huge amounts of sludge are generated in the different treatment processes on the wastewater treatment plant. This sludge will be dried with the technology of HUBER that uses solar energy for drying to reduce sludge mass and volume. A total of approximately 475,000 t dewatered sludge per year are to be dried from 24% DS to approximately 75% DS. To achieve this, 128 greenhouses will be erected on a space of 16 ha, in which 128 HUBER Sludge Turner SOLSTICE® units will ensure reliable sludge drying. In addition to the 128 sludge turners, HUBER will also supply the complete fully automatically operating sludge supply and feeding unit with push floor system and HUBER Screw Conveyor Ro8 T units. Furthermore, HUBER will supply the electrical control for the complete solar drying plant and, of course, provide the complete detailed process engineering. The customer of HUBER SE is already on site with more than 1,400 workers, building several concrete structures, foundations, etc., to provide for the problem-free mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning in 2020.
