[...]According to the motto "two become one", the HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® CF combines optimally matched technologies in one machine. The result is a unique screen system that impresses with both high reliability and innovative functionality. The HUBER RakeMax® CF is a modified variant of the proven HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® with a U-shaped stationary screen rack installed between the two screen frames. The bar rack is arranged in parallel to the flow direction of the wastewater. Whilst the wastewater flows into the open front side of the screen and out through both the left and right bar rack, solids are retained on the inner surface of the U-shaped bar rack. The solids retained on the bar rack lead to gradual blinding of the bar rack surface, which has an impact on the level difference in the channel. Cleaning of the screen bars starts at a defined water level in the channel upstream of the screen. The RakeMax® CF achieves this with its cleaning elements attached to the chain system. At the end of the bar rack cleaning cycle, the cleaning elements are positively cleaned by a pivoted comb, which reliably discharges the removed screenings into a downstream transport or disposal unit. The key features of the HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® CF at a glance: Proven technology of two screen designs combined into one High hydraulic throughput capacity due to U-shaped bar rack No moving parts or bearings submerged in the water Very little space required due to vertical installation - ideal for narrow spaces and deep channels Rake tines fully engaging with the bar rack Screen rake engaging above the bar rack / water surface Increased separation efficiency through flow deflection in the bar rack An emergency overflow that can be integrated as an option eliminates the need for an emergency bypass construction. This new development maintains the positive characteristics of the proven HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax ® , such as high screenings discharge capacity due to a variable number of rake tines, automatic scraper device without use of process water. Due to its different design options the RakeMax ® CF covers a very wide range of applications, allowing us to respond to the individual needs of our customers and to specific constructional and hydraulic site conditions. The HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax ® CF has successfully proven its functionality in various applications in daily wastewater treatment plant operation. For our customers, the optimally matched technologies in one machine result in functional advantages, especially with small bar spacings. The positive operating experience proves that once again an innovative HUBER idea from the field of mechanical cleaning has been put into practice.[...]
[...]Reliable separation of solids from wastewater Low headloss due to the large effective bar rack surface High screenings discharge capacity Well-proven design based on the RakeMax® principle The RakeMax® HF is a L-shaped multi-rake bar screen and like the RakeMax® screen belongs to the MAX family of HUBER screens. This screen has a flat and therefore hydraulically advantageous bottom section that transitions into a steep conveying section. This combines the benefits of the well proven RakeMax®, reliable solids separation and high screenings discharge capacity, with a low headloss due to a big effective screen rake surface. Design and Function The HUBER RakeMax® HF Multi-Rake Bar Screen is the ‘high flow’ version and further development of the successful HUBER RakeMax® Multi-Rake Bar Screen that is well-proven in thousands of installations. The RakeMax® HF screen consists of two different sections: The flat bottom section provides a large screening surface and favourable hydraulic conditions, the steep conveying section ensures screening on a small footprint. Material removal starts virtually right at the bar rack mounted flat to the channel bottom so that any accumulation of disturbing material is eliminated. The optimal approaching flow conditions and large effective bar rack surface ensure a high hydraulic throughput capacity. The cleaning elements, attached to the chain system, can easily be adjusted to different requirements so that a highly variable screenings discharge capacity is achieved. This is especially favourable for high solids loads. Depending on the size of bar spacing, the bar rack design is either a flow-optimising bar or non-blocking wedge wire profile. Both ends of the cleaning elements are connected to drive chains. Each chain is driven by a sprocket on a common shaft and a flange mounted gear motor. At the end of the bar rack cleaning cycle the cleaning elements are cleaned by a pivoted comb that reliably discharges the removed screenings into a downstream transport, washing or disposal unit. The easy to access and maintain drive unit is installed above the channel. Due to the screen’s compact design its height above floor is very low. HUBER Detection System Safety Vision The innovative HUBER Detection System Safety Vision enables the screen to "see" the screenings and reliably identify potentially critical contaminants. This effective protection mechanism reliably prevents damage to the screen or the downstream equipment, which not only increases the availability of the machines involved, but also improves the operational safety of the entire plant technology. In addition, the adaptive operation based on event detection means that the machine can always be optimally utilised and the running time of downstream machines can be optimised according to the actually necessary demand. Benefits of the HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® HF High hydraulic capacity due to the extremely flat installation angle of the bar rack High operating reliability due to defined meshing of the cleaning elements with the bar rack No accumulation of disturbing material due to material removal from the screen starting virtually right at the bar rack mounted flat to the channel bottom Compact design Easy-to-retrofit into existing channels Completely odour-encased screen with easy to remove covers Installation without channel recesses possible Not hindered by gravel or grit Simple and easy-to-access drive unit All parts in contact with medium (except the drive and bearings) are made of immersion pickled stainless steel. High screenings discharge capacity Uncomplicated later change of the bar spacing No additional consumables such as service water required for plant operation, except electric current[...]
[...]Very high screenings removal capacity and separation efficiency with low head loss Simple and robust design adapted to project-specific requirements Variable cleaning intervals and speeds Various design options enable use for coarse and fine screening of large dirt loads The powerful Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® V cleans surface water even with high dirt loads Due to the increasing pollution of surface water, operators of water withdrawal systems are faced with the challenge of effectively removing contaminants through mechanical cleaning. The extent of surface water withdrawal from rivers and seas is also growing, for example due to increasing drinking water production via desalination plants, the use of renewable heat from river water, its use for cooling purposes, or for the generation of hydrogen. The correct choice of the mechanical screens determines the stability of subsequent process steps and thus the economic efficiency and safety of the entire plant. Design and Function of the HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® V Our decades of experience in planning, project management and after-sales service enable us to perfect the Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® V to suit any customer needs. The screen offers excellent versatility for use in a wide range of water qualities and dirt loads. Combined with modern engineering and manufacturing methods, this guarantees our customers a long service life of the RakeMax® V with high reliability and low maintenance. The HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® V is a coarse screen with front flow in the channel as the first stage for screening surface water. The RakeMax® V can also be used as a fine screen. As the water to be screened flows through the bar rack, the impurities are reliably retained by the bars. The retained material accumulates on the bar rack, crea-ting an additional filter effect, which further increases the screen’s separation efficiency. The cleaning rakes, which are attached to the chain system, are moved continuously upwards through the bars by the rake drive and transport the dirt load out of the channel. The separated material is discharged into a container or downstream transport or dewatering unit via a discharge mechanism in the upper part of the screen. The cleaning elements attached to the chain system can easily be adjusted to different requirements, enable project-specific design of the screening discharge capacity. This is especially favourable for high solids loads. The discharge height of the RakeMax® V above the ground is very low. It is designed specifically for the project depending on the installation height of the planned screenings discharge. The design ensures that no impurities fall back into the incoming sewer. The RakeMax® V can be operated manually, with time control or automatically with water level differential measurement. An integrated overload protection device ensures that the screen drive switches off in the event of a blockage. The HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® V is ideally suited for stable surface water withdrawal from rivers and seas requirements and reliably removes high dirt loads from the water. Thanks to innovative solutions, the RakeMax® V can also meet special requirements such as the removal of jellyfish and seaweed or efficient water withdrawal without harming fish.
