[...]Wanlip - Leicester, UK A HUBER Technology Wastewater Case Study HUBER Technology recently completed a project for Severn Trent Water at Wanlip STW on the outskirts of Leicester. This was a project that had been looked at for a long period of time but was commissioned in early 2020. Project Profile This project was part of the upgrade to the sites indigenous sludge treatment to replace ageing step screens, which were installed in the 1990’s. HUBER Technology were first involved in the project in the late 2000’s to see what options were available to improve the process. The challenge was to improve[...]
[...]Milford Haven, Wales Huber Technology recently completed the installation of new escalator inlet screens and screenings handling plant for Welsh Water (DCWW) at Milford Haven STW. Project Profile Having completed the installation of escalator screens and screenings handling at Garnswlt STW working direct with DCWW and their South West Capital Delivery team, HUBER were asked to look at a similar type of project at Milford Haven STW. The main difference between the two sites was that the site at Milford Haven was a raised inlet works and located inside a building. This was from the outset of the [...]
[...]All WaSC’s (water & sewage companies) are under increasing scrutiny relating to unauthorised discharges to watercourses. The task they now face is an eye watering number of stormwater overflows that need addressing in the coming years. This is enormous challenge & is likely to generate an unprecedented demand for screening solutions. HUBER Technology are confident they are best placed within the existing supply chain to provide risk free screening solutions to assist with this daunting challenge. With almost 1500 weir mounted screens already supplied in the UK & Ireland (1,000’s globally), we[...]
[...]Sleaford, UK Anglian Water approached HUBER in January 2006 and asked us to offer a solution for resolving problems at their Sleaford plant where large amounts of screenings passing through the inlet works and impairing downstream processes. The operators were also experiencing problems with their existing screenings processing system. In co-operation with a local contractor we proposed to remove the existing screen and screenings processing system. We offered a pair of HUBER Belt Screen EscaMax® 4000 perforated band screens with a width of 752 mm and a capacity of 101 l/s, installed at an angle[...]
[...]Melton Mowbray, UK HUBER Technology are pleased to of recently completed the installation and commissioning at Melton Mowbray STW. Project Profile Melton Mowbray STW is a medium sized activated sludge works, treating a PE approx. 68,000. The works treats a combination of both domestic and trade effluents. The new Melton Mowbray STW is designed to cater for increased treatment flows equating to a design horizon population equivalent of 123,328 (82% growth) and a tightening of the phosphorus and ammonia permits. A significant proportion of the influent is from trade waste. HUBER were heavily [...]
[...]Aylesbury STW, UK Huber Technology has been awarded a contract to supply the RoDisc® filter to Thames Water. The project is part of a Thames Water Amp 5 scheme to improve tertiary treatment at Aylesbury STW. The project is to allow for population growth, part of which is to increase the tertiary treatment capacity. Following successful award onto Thames Water framework for the supply of this equipment in October 2011, we were then approached by Black & Veatch to provide the equipment. Additional capacity has been added to ensure that the increased flows can be treated and 3 x HUBER Disc Filter RoDisc[...]

[...]Great Britain Three recent installations are now helping poultry slaughterhouses to reduce their sludge disposal costs and remove their reliance on tankering sludge off site. Background With ever increasing sludge disposal costs and tightened restrictions on spreading sludge on land (particularly over the summer months), HUBER were approached to provide dewatering of the sludge on three poultry slaughterhouses. The sites had identified the potential for savings and wanted to evaluate treatment options. Since the three sites operate similar processes, a single trial was conducted to evaluate[...]
