Environmental technologies are a key global industry: HUBER at IFAT Munich 2026

12.05.2026 Munich,
Germany

HUBER presented many exciting products and solutions for drinking water supply, wastewater treatment and sludge treatment at IFAT Munich 2026 from 4 to 7 May. The world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies attracted around 142,000 visitors from almost 160 countries and regions. IFAT thus confirmed that environmental technologies remain a relevant growth market, contrary to the trend in many other sectors.

During the trade fair, the HUBER stand was visited by Jessika Roswall (EU Commissioner for the Environment, Water, Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy), Thorsten Glauber (Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection), Dr Rüdiger Detsch (Director-General at the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection), Tobias Gotthardt (State Secretary at the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy) and many other national and international delegations.

Chief Technology Officer Rainer Köhler: ‘Water, energy, the environment and climate are among the most pressing challenges of our time.’

‘IFAT Munich 2026 has once again impressively demonstrated its value as the world’s leading trade fair for the exchange and further development of key forward-looking topics,’ said Rainer Köhler, Chief Technology Officer at HUBER SE. ‘The water and wastewater management sectors, as well as the waste and recycling industries, play a key role in strengthening the circular economy and climate resilience in a sustainable way. Water, energy, the environment and climate change are among the most pressing challenges of our time, and IFAT is providing valuable impetus here.’
