From Berching to Toronto: transatlantic knowledge transfer strengthens HUBER Global Service in Canada
During a two-week visit to HUBER Technology Ltd. in Toronto, Maximilian Schmid, Service and Sales Engineer of the Global Service team, supported local HUBER colleagues with training, the optimization of internal workflows, and the further development of the service organization.
Building and developing expertise
The first week focused on comprehensive training at the HUBER Technology Ltd. site. Together with Luanna Veldman (Service Sales Support) and Nicholas Leroux (Head of Service at HUBER Technology Ltd.), Max covered topics such as quotation preparation, internal processes, and the handling of inquiries regarding spare and wear parts. He also introduced the HUBER machines in use and explained their specific service requirements. Furthermore, existing workflows were analyzed and strategies for more efficient processes were developed. In doing so, he supported his colleagues with both commercial matters and the expansion of their service expertise.
Hands-on training at the Highland Creek wastewater treatment plant
The second week focused on practical knowledge transfer. Together with Nicholas, Max visited the Highland Creek wastewater treatment plant in Toronto. There, they disassembled one of the installed HUBER Belt Screen EscaMax® units to provide customers and service personnel with hands-on training for future maintenance and servicing tasks. Thanks to his extensive experience as a HUBER Global Service Technician prior to moving into Internal Sales, Max was able to contribute both technical and commercial expertise. The training covered maintenance procedures, typical wear parts, and necessary spare parts.
Reference installation for the Canadian market
The Highland Creek wastewater treatment plant, equipped with five HUBER Belt Screen Escamax® and two HUBER Wash Press WAP® units, ranks among HUBER Technology Ltd.’s key reference installations. Its proximity to Toronto also makes it strategically important for future service and spare parts operations.
Strategic service meetings and process harmonization
Later during the visit, Team Leader Fabian Achhammer and Group Leader Simon Schmausser from HUBER Global Service also travelled to Toronto. Together with the team from the Canadian subsidiary, they discussed strategic topics and future developments during service meetings held over several days. In addition, further measures for knowledge transfer were agreed upon, including regular visits by service consultants, training sessions at the HUBER headquarters, and the continued harmonization of workflows and processes.
International encounters foster personal exchange
In addition to the professional focus, the stay offered an opportunity to get to know the country and its people. In his free time, Max explored Toronto and visited Niagara Falls. Such international assignments not only promote professional exchange but also strengthen personal networking across the global HUBER organization.
Long-term expansion of global service expertise
The stay highlights the close international cooperation within HUBER Global Service. The combination of commercial consulting, technical knowledge transfer, and strategic development strengthens service capabilities at international locations for the long term. At the same time, Max’s example demonstrates the added value that the combination of extensive service experience and his current role in service sales offers to customers and colleagues worldwide.
