Process engineering solutions for the treatment of drinking water

For the production of drinking water (especially when surface water is used), physical process steps are often necessary to remove solids of different types and sizes.

HUBER has customised mechanical and process engineering solutions for the various applications:

Specially developed screens for water abstraction remove all inadmissible coarse and solid matter from the raw water from rivers and seas. If required, suitable devices for fish protection can also be provided. Particularly in the case of machine technology for seawater desalination plants, attention must also be paid to proper corrosion protection.

Any necessary separation of fine particles and suspended solids can be accomplished with the HUBER Sandfilter CONTIFLOW® in a continuous process and without interrupting plant operation.

An alternative to the sand filtration process is the HUBER Disc Filter RoDisc®. With a fine mesh, it retains even the finest particles and flocs.

The sludge produced during drinking water treatment can be dewatered economically with the HUBER Screw Press Q-PRESS® machines.
